Joan Booth Joan Booth recalls working with Ballet Rambert during their tour of Germany in 1945. In December 1945, the Company toured to Germany under the auspices of ENSA to entertain the British troops. Fluent in German, Joan was hired as Marie Rambert’s assistant and translator for the tour. In this interview, Joan talks about the journey across the channel in an empty shell of a troop boat and their slow onward journey by train.
